RUMONGE COOPERATIVE FOR THE DEAF CENTRE
Rumonge Cooperative for the Deaf was established by the Brothers of Charity in 2011. Located in Kigoma Urban about 5 km from the railway station, the cooperative aims to create access, equality, and opportunities for deaf individuals.
It provides training in carpentry, tailoring, communication, sign language skills, and life development. The centre empowers deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals to realize their potential in an environment of respect, dignity, and inclusion.
Beyond vocational skills, the cooperative promotes confidence, independence, cultural inclusion, community awareness, and equal participation in society.
The cooperative stands as a beacon of hope, proving that with the right support, every deaf person can achieve excellence and contribute meaningfully to society.
